Terms of Use
Last updated: 2025/12/27
1) Scope
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of Firehook (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these terms.
If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2) What Firehook does (and does not do)
Firehook helps you configure and trigger “hooks” (automations) that you define. Hooks are not executed by Firehook itself: they are executed by your devices and/or third-party services you connect.
- Firehook does not control your devices, networks, or third-party services.
- Firehook does not guarantee that a hook will run, succeed, or produce a specific outcome.
- Firehook is not an emergency or safety system and must not be used for critical or life-safety purposes.
3) Your responsibility
You are the sole party responsible for the hooks you create, their configuration, their targets, and all consequences (direct or indirect) of running or not running those hooks.
- You must ensure you have the legal right and authorization to call the APIs/endpoints you configure.
- You must ensure you have the right to share any data you send (including personal data, credentials, tokens, URLs, identifiers, or any confidential information).
- You are responsible for validating, testing, monitoring, and maintaining your hooks and devices.
- You are responsible for all actions performed through your account and for keeping your devices secure.
- You must comply with all applicable laws and regulations (including privacy, security, and export rules).
4) Prohibited uses
You must not use the Service to engage in illegal, harmful, or abusive activities. This includes, without limitation:
- Hacking, unauthorized access, credential theft, data exfiltration, malware, or phishing.
- Automations that violate third-party terms, attempt to bypass security controls, or exploit vulnerabilities.
- Harassment, fraud, or any activity that may cause harm to people, property, or systems.
- Processing or sharing sensitive data without a lawful basis, required notices, and safeguards.
5) No support for hook design
Firehook does not provide support, consulting, or validation for the creation, testing, or definition of hooks, nor for the configuration of third-party APIs.
Any examples, templates, or documentation are provided “as is” and remain your responsibility to adapt, verify, and use lawfully.
6) Security and confidentiality
You are responsible for protecting your secrets, tokens, URLs, credentials, and any confidential elements you store or share through your hooks.
You acknowledge that sending requests to third-party endpoints may transmit data outside of Firehook, under the terms and security posture of those third parties.
7) Service availability and no warranty
The Service may be interrupted, delayed, or unavailable due to maintenance, incidents, network issues, third-party failures, or other causes.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.
Firehook does not warrant that hooks will execute correctly, at a specific time, or without errors.
8) Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Firehook and its operators shall not be liable for any direct or indirect damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service, including but not limited to:
- Loss of data, loss of profits, business interruption, reputational damage, or any consequential damages.
- Damages caused by hooks you created, endpoints you called, device behavior, or third-party services.
- Security incidents originating from your configuration, your devices, your networks, or third parties.
9) Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Firehook and its operators from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your hooks, your data, your use of third-party services, or your breach of these terms.
10) Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service (including deleting or disabling accounts) if abuse is suspected, reported, or confirmed, or if required by a third party or competent authorities. We may do so with or without notice where permitted by law.
11) Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The date above indicates the latest update.
Continued use of the Service after changes become effective means you accept the updated terms.
12) Governing law
These terms are governed by French law, unless mandatory local consumer protection rules apply.
